The Nedág is a rather new Borean weapon design, and still quite an unusual sight.
At first glance, it may seem like a shorter version of the Biclas, sharing the same unusual guard design with swirling quillons and a disc. However, it is in fact an evolution of the Cadág. Similar to a Scottish dirk, the Cadág plays an important role in Borean culture. Every man owns a Cadág and knows how to fight with it. However, being part weapon part utility knife, the traditional Cadág has several drawbacks. One of which is the lack of any hand protection. This makes parrying blows rather risky. This is where the Nedág comes in.
The word "nede" means to guard or to protect. "Nedág" literally means "guarding knife". The grip is typically shaped like a Cadág's, the blade averages between 40 and 45 centimeters. It is thus smaller than a typical short sword and classed as a parrying dagger. Other than Cadágs or swords, the Nedág has no cultural significance, which is why it is typically less decorated and rarely forged from pattern welded steel.

This is just a kitbash of existing Borean weapons, I just wanted to illustrate what that weapon would look like, and play with Octane's dirt node a bit.
