Moonblade
Sadly I can't really give a story this time, there isn't really one. I saw an episode of Forged in Fire, they were doing Khopeshs. I always liked Khopeshs and I fell in love with the design they made, so I recreated in 3D.
I figured, it's kind of a saber-design, so why not give it a fitting guard. That's all there is. I called it "Moonblade" because of its crescent shape.
If you have an idea for a story for this design, feel free to post it in the comments, I'd love to hear it.
Originally the grip was dark. But I think the bright wood texture really makes it pop.
Need to find a better way for those bump maps. The symbol on the rainguard is barely visible at all.
On the left you see the inspiration. Originally wanted to add a closed guard, but that didn't look good. Also, sabers are one-handed, this grip is long enough for two hands, and a closed guard would get in the way.
