Borean Biclas

The Biclas (literally "short sword") is the most common type of one-handed sword in Borea, and likely the most common type of sword in general. The blade (Dulen) is forged from pattern-welded steel, 75cm (29.5" long) and 4cm (1.57") at the widest part. It has a distal taper ranging from 6mm (0.236") to 2.8mm (0.11") and is said to feel quite lively in the hand. The handle (Ladu) is 20cm (7.9") long and has an oval cross section of 3.5cm x 2.5cm (1.38" x ~1").
A typical feature of Borean swords is the disc guard (Cúla) resembling a tsuba as seen on the Japanese katana, in addition to the cross guard (Soldar).
Here, the disc guard is shaped like a triskel (Tridóri) with a ring around it, which is supposed to protect the wielder from harm.

So, searching for inspiration, I stumbled across a website selling very low quality swords of mostly very ridiculous designs. One of them inspired me to create this. It was a rather ridiculous sword that had a combination of crossguard and tsuba, which I found rather interesting. I think this could actually work.
Even though this is a rather simple design, I'm quite happy with how it turned out. I think it's functional and good looking, but still simple enough to be produced in large numbers. I can easily imagine soldiers carrying this as a side arm, and civilians carrying them for self-defense.

The sword is relatively light and said to feel quite lively in the hand.

Profile view with measurements. In addition, the handle is oval with 3.5x2.5cm (~1.38x1") to allow the wielder to feel the edge allignment.

3D view - sadly no texture on the blade. The pattern is procedurally generated which does not carry into FBS.
