Korvantine Esca

The Esca has been the primary weapon of Korvantine soldiers for centuries and its claw-like shape has been known to strike fear into enemy hearts for just as long. While its design and materials have changed over time, the basic shape has remained mostly the same as it has proven its effectiveness again and again. Despite its convex edge, it is an excellent cutting weapon and the inward-curved tip can be used to reach around shields, hook enemies and penetrate armor like a war pick.

So this was obviously inspired by a variant of the Dacian falx. I like how unique these weapons look and thought it's an excellent design for the Korvantines (Koorvaantianis), an imperial civilization that has, over the last couple of centuries, conquered their entire continent.

Thanks to https://seamless-pixels.blogspot.com/ for the metal material I used on the rough part of the blade.

The Esca is a one-handed sword, but its handle allows for two-handed use for additional force.

While the Korvantines like flair, the generic Esca does not possess a lot of decorations. The most elaborate decoration is the most important symbol of their faith, the Tiorengeelem, inlayed into the pommel.
